Winter transforms Meghalaya.
As the heavy monsoon clouds disappear, rivers become clearer, forest trails open up and hidden pools, caves and dramatic canyon landscapes become perfect for exploration.
Begin your journey from Guwahati with a visit to Kamakhya Temple before travelling through Umiam and into Cherrapunji. Spend the next two days discovering a different side of Sohra — hike towards the dramatic Nohkalikai crest, explore canyons and natural green pools, experience Arwah Cave and discover secluded viewpoints away from the regular tourist circuit.
Continue towards Rangthylliang for a living root bridge experience before travelling deeper into Meghalaya’s countryside and spending the night near the crystal-clear waters of Shnongpdeng.
The adventure intensifies in the Jaintia Hills with boating, kayaking, natural pools and cliff-jumping experiences before reaching the highlight of the expedition — Krem Chympe. Travel by 4×4 into the remote countryside, hike to the cave, board a raft to explore its water-filled interior and swim in natural pools before continuing to Chympe Falls.
With accommodation, transportation, local guides, entry tickets, selected meals, adventure activities and on-ground support arranged throughout the journey, this is Meghalaya built for explorers.
