From ₹35,000 Per Person
Mechuka is not a destination you simply arrive at.
It is a journey through changing landscapes, remote roads and mountain communities.
Begin in Guwahati and travel east through Assam towards Dibrugarh, where tea gardens and the landscapes of Upper Assam mark the beginning of your Himalayan road adventure.
From Dibrugarh, cross into Arunachal Pradesh and continue towards Aalo before following the Siyom Valley deeper into the mountains.
The most spectacular part of the journey begins on the road from Aalo to Mechuka. Forested hills, rushing rivers, small settlements and winding mountain roads gradually give way to the vast open landscapes of the Mechuka Valley.
Spend a full day discovering traditional villages, local culture, wooden houses, open meadows and the historic Samten Yangcha Monastery overlooking the valley.
Rather than rushing between tourist attractions, this expedition gives you time to experience Mechuka’s landscapes and mountain lifestyle at a slower pace.
With transportation, accommodation, breakfast and dinner, Inner Line Permit, entry tickets and local experiences arranged throughout the journey, all you need to bring is your curiosity and a love for mountain roads.

Seven days of tea-growing plains, winding Himalayan roads, river valleys, traditional villages, Buddhist heritage and the extraordinary landscapes of Mechuka.
The journey itself is as memorable as the destination.
Begin your expedition from Guwahati and travel eastwards across Assam towards Dibrugarh.
As the journey progresses, the landscape gradually transitions from the plains of central Assam into the lush tea-growing countryside of Upper Assam.
Guests who prefer to avoid the long Guwahati–Dibrugarh road journey can fly directly to Dibrugarh Airport and join the expedition from Dibrugarh.
After breakfast, leave the plains of Assam behind and begin your journey towards Aalo in Arunachal Pradesh.
As you enter Arunachal, the landscape transforms into forested hills, mountain roads and dramatic river valleys.
Today marks the beginning of the most spectacular section of the expedition.
Leave Aalo and follow winding mountain roads deeper into Shi Yomi district.
As the journey progresses, settlements become smaller, forests grow denser and the surrounding landscapes become increasingly remote.
As you approach Mechuka, the narrow mountain landscape gradually opens into a spectacular valley surrounded by forested hills and distant Himalayan peaks.
Wake up surrounded by the beautiful mountain landscapes of Mechuka.
Today is deliberately relaxed so you can experience the valley rather than simply move between sightseeing points.
The Shi Yomi district administration describes Samten Yangcha as Mechuka's oldest monastery, situated on a hilltop overlooking the region.
Enjoy one final morning surrounded by Mechuka’s mountains before beginning the return journey towards Aalo.
Travelling the same road in the opposite direction reveals completely different perspectives of the forests, rivers and Himalayan landscapes.
After breakfast, begin your journey back towards Dibrugarh.
Watch the landscape gradually transform as the Himalayan mountains give way to the green plains and tea-growing countryside of Assam.
Your Mechuka road expedition comes to an end as you travel westwards from Dibrugarh back towards Guwahati.
Guests who prefer a shorter itinerary can fly directly from Dibrugarh Airport instead of travelling back to Guwahati by road.
